DAM, It Feels Good

DAM, It Feels Good

Technological advancements in recent decades triggered a need for robust digital asset management solutions, and in recent years we've been busy making our DAM the tops.

Big improvements in technology can sometimes be both a blessing and a curse. A lot of opportunities will open up for those who adopt them in good time, while inefficiencies and barriers will accompany those who don’t. With digital assets, the challenge (in short) is that the growing amount of channels requires you to take action quickly while adding complexity. A DAM solution helps in various ways. Read along to find out how.

Keep Your Assets in Check

Whether it’s for marketing campaigns, email purposes, or website building – the need to access an updated and centralized hub for immediate asset retrieval is crucial. In today’s fast-paced business world, where digital assets spread faster than ever – timing is everything. You certainly don’t want to lose time searching for the right assets or violate copyrights and brand guidelines by using non-compliant and out-of-date images, logos, and icons.

A good DAM platform helps you to sort your assets, and thereby implement a proper structure. Setting up tags, and defining metadata is a necessary part of doing so. On top of that, you can add additional arrangement layers by grouping together your assets to collections, saving them in project-based folders, or relating them to each other. Once you’ve categorized your assets, use search functionalities and multifaceted filters to find them instantly.

A DAM solution also helps you to stay in control of your assets. By managing your assets digitally, it’s easier for you to distribute them amongst different stakeholders. Simply grant them different levels of access such as viewing, or editing rights. Also, by having all your asset centralized– and making sure your stakeholders know that they are – it’s much easier keeping your assets updated, since only have to make your changes once. A DAM also helps you protect your assets. Set up download request mechanisms, expiration dates, and automated actions to stay away from copyright troubles, and undesired spreading of assets.

The Modern Way of Managing Assets

On top of all that, investing in a DAM sets you up for the future of your growing organization. A DAM helps your business scale reliably, both in terms of stakeholders and storage. User management only has to be overseen at one place, and the onboarding of new users can be truly streamlined. There are also no geographical barriers in accessing assets, as they’ll become available to anyone, anywhere. In other words, you’re empowering the relevant people of your organization, by providing constant access to brand materials – ensuring brand consistency across every channel. With cloud-based solutions, you’ll open up the door to big data volumes while keeping maintenance costs low.

Frontify Can Help

At this point, it might not come as a surprise, but it’s true: Frontify can help you with all the above, and more. During this last year, we worked on improving our DAM solution, bringing up some new and exciting features.

Icon & Logo Library

With our newly improved dashboard, we enhanced the platform’s UI – creating more space for specific brand manuals to go into more depth. You’re now able to create dedicated libraries for both logos and icons, separating them from the already existing Media Library. The term “library” hereby describes our solution in a very precise way, since these libraries don’t only exist to store your assets anymore – now, they’re collaborative places where you can create, organize, and manage every type of asset centrally – together. Both the Icon and Logo Library stay interconnected to our other modules, just like before, enabling you to retrieve your brand guidelines while working on your assets, and allowing you to embed the libraries to your Brand Guidelines.

Collections & Asset Relations

We’ve also released a Collections feature. With it, both private and public collections can be set up by creating bundles of assets. Whether you want to gather your assets for a specific project, or because they possess similar properties, the Collections feature helps you in adding additional layers to structure your libraries – saving you some time.

The organizational aspect also holds true for the Asset Relations feature. With it, you can establish a link between assets, allowing you to see all related assets at one glance, and navigate back and forth between them even faster. Upload new files, or choose among existing ones to set up these relations.

With all the clean-ups we’ve done in recent months, we also generated some blank spots in the application’s UI. But instead of seeing them as just blank spots, we see them as opportunities. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements in the near future.

In the meantime, have a proper look at our DAM solution.
